This is the 5th episode of the podcast and probably the one I’m most excited sharing with you so far!
I was thinking about what to do going forward with NOURISHED LIVING and thought that doing little series would be so much fun! So the first series is going to be called:
Sometimes the things that hold us back in life are those that we hold on so tightly to – they become so safe and familiar to us that the thought of letting go scares us and stops us from taking that step. We create stories around why these things are so important to us that we convince ourselves that’s just the way we are and the way things should be. Well, I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be that way and throughout this series I’m going to go through those things that don’t tend to serve us, how to move past them and start creating that incredible life you deserve.
So the first episode in this series is LETTING GO OF THE EXPECTATIONS ON MOTIVATION!
Now, I’m not saying motivation is bad – I think it’s great! However, it does have it’s own purpose, time and place and therefore isn’t something we should rely on all of the time. At the end of the day though, feeling motivated is just that – a feeling. We can’t expect that we will feel motivated all the time because as well all know, emotions are fleeting. It’s too unrealistic and expecting that will inevitably set us up for failure.
So in this episode I talk about swapping this pressure to feel motivated with two words:
Those two words have so much more power to drive you through life and push you towards your life/health/wellbeing goals and intentions every day – no matter how you’re feeling. That’s how much power they have – both of those words can trump motivation any day of the week and if you’re truly dedicated, it will also help you push through those bad days.
We put too much pressure on feeling motivated that actually it can stop us from ‘doing’ things because we wait to feel motivated. We believe that motivation will come and save the day – almost our knight in shining armour. This tends to happen most when we wait for our mojo to come back. We waste days, hours, minutes hoping that something outside of our control will come and save the day or we wait for a FEELING to come and save the day. This is where we have to get real. YOU can get your mojo back right now! Don’t wait for a feeling to come and save you – YOU can do it right this second, right now. Stop waiting and take back control and power over your life and what you want to achieve.
So how do you do this? Simple – 3 of my favourite sentences that will create more mojo than motivation ever will!
It doesn’t matter how old you are – 10, 28, 52, 77 – it’s still applicable.
Knowing those three sentences though and marrying them with dedication and persistence gives you a magic recipe to create the most amazing life ever. So what are you going to do about it?
