Chocolate Mocha Bliss Balls 1

I have been craving chocolate more than usual lately. For those of you who know me well, I have a major sweet tooth and therefore it's essential I have a few bliss balls handy in the fridge at all times for when those cravings hit. I love knowing that I have a healthier alternative to enjoy (in moderation of course!) rather than reaching for the pre-packaged, not-so-healthy foods.

Couple my love for chocolate with lack of sleep (hello 'new mum life'!) and you have one strong craving for mocha coffees!

I love anything 'mocha' at the moment - just that perfect combination of coffee and chocolate. So, of course the next time I made bliss balls, they HAD to be mocha flavoured and trust me, these are just so divine. If you LOVE coffee then these are the bliss balls for you. PLUS, they're great if you're after a chocolate fix too.

*I used decaffeinated coffee as I'm still breastfeeding Koa and cacao powder contains some caffeine, but you could use caffeinated coffee if you wanted that extra buzz.

  • 80g Pitted Dates
  • 50g Oats
  • 30g Brazil Nuts
  • 20g Ground Almonds
  • 2 Heaped tsp Coffee
  • 3tsp Raw Cacao Powder


  1. Soak the dates in boiling water for about 10 minutes and leave to one side.
  2. In a food processor blend the oats, brazil nuts and ground almonds until they create a fine powder-like consistency.
  3. Add in the coffee granules and cacao powder and blend until combined thoroughly.
  4. Drain the dates (leaving the water to one side) and add them to the food processor. Blend until smooth and the dates mix through the dry mixture thoroughly.
  5. You want the mixture to bind together so you're able to roll it into small balls. If the mixture is too dry, then add 1 tablespoon of the remaining date water at a time. Blend between each added tablespoon to make sure the mixture doesn't become too wet.
  6. Once it's reached the desired consistency, roll the mixture into 10 balls and store in the fridge in an air-tight container.
